LEARN DATA SCIENCE ON REAL-LIFE PROBLEMS.
BaseCamp is an immersive full-time 8-week program for prospective data scientists.
During 8 weeks you will deepen your theoretical knowledge, enhance your practical skills and become
a qualified data scientist ready for your exciting data science career.
8 weeks split into lectures, workshops, and work on a project. Our program is timed and shaped perfectly so that you can learn how to solve real-world data science problems.
Our training program takes place in Vienna, Austria - the very heart of Europe, where history and culture meet dynamic business environment. Vienna has also been ranked by Mercer as the city with best quality of living for 7 years in a row.
In the mood for a more exotic destination? Check out our Data & Travel edition in Medellin, Colombia.
From all participants we require advanced English skills (at least C1 level) and good abstract thinking. Technical skills and formal education will be considered but are not mandatory. However, we want all the students to be on the same entry level, so we reserve the right to send out some materials to go through before the bootcamp. The ability to legally reside in Austria during the program is necessary.
The cost of BaseCamp is 5,000 Euro paid in two installments, with the first one being due two weeks after acceptance.
We accept 8 to 10 people per batch. The selection is based on the quality of your application, remote interviews and interest on the side of our partners.
Applications are currently open for the BaseCamp autumn 2017 batch until 31st of July. If you are interested in participating in BaseCamp in the future you can follow us on Facebook or subscribe to our newsletter to find out when the next batches will happen. Our BaseCamp edition in Medellin, Colombia you can find here.
To apply hit the APPLY NOW button in Apply section of this page. You will be either redirected to the application page or (in case there are currently no applications open) you will be able sign up for our newsletter in which we will inform you about upcoming cohorts.
Current application deadline is 31 July 2017 11:59pm UTC for the cohort starting on 2 October 2017. This way we will have sufficient time to select the most promising candidates and once you are selected, you will still have enough time to arrange your arrival to Vienna.
After the application deadline, all applications will be reviewed and evaluated by our mentors. Remote interviews will be held with shortlisted candidates and final selection will be made based on these interviews. All applicants will be notified about the results of each stage of the selection process.
The training program takes place in Vienna, Austria. It is full-time on-site program. No remote participation is allowed. We recently launched another edition of BaseCamp that will take place in Medellin, Colombia. You can find more information on the programs website.
The only prerequisits are advanced English (at least C1 level) and good abstract thinking. However, we want all students to be on the same level initially, so we reserve the right to send the participant some materials to go through before the beginning of the bootcamp. There are no other requirements regarding age, skills or formal education. The participant must be eligible to study and live in EU countries.
Due to focus on quality and personal attention we limit number of people to 8-10 per batch.
The price of the program is 5000 Euro, with first half due two weeks after acceptance to the program. This is to secure the spot in the bootcamp, since we have a waiting list of other applicants. The second half of the fee is due after the first two weeks of the program.
The two courses are not exactly the same. In Medellín, the housing is also included in the tuition - all the participants will live together in one accomodation. The students will not train Data Science on real companies' data problems but there is an additional factor of adventure and experience through organized cultural activities and trips. In Vienna, you are responsible for finding your own accommodation. A big part of the Vienna bootcamp is focused on working on real companies' projects. The topics of the lectures will be similar, though.
We are not able to guarantee a job to all the participants at the end of the bootcamp. It is important that there's a match of interests and expectations of both the hiring company and the attendee, which we cannot influence. However, we are organizing a hiring day at the end of the bootcamp, where our graduates present their projects to recruiters and companies, followed by job interviews. We also provide a 3-month job seeking assistance (help with CV, mock interviews to prepare you for the possible questions at the interviews, etc.) after the end of the bootcamp if necessary. It is also in our best interest to help secure our graduates a Data Science job.
